In 2010 I had the privilege of being in Uganda, we visited our dear friends Dickson and Mabel Wesonga. Soon the news spread that a Brazilian woman who played soccer had arrived, and with that, many doors were opened so that we could give soccer training in schools and villages. In each of these opportunities we share about our God and what he has done in our lives.
But where does the skirt come from in this story?
Wearing a skirt is the cultural custom for women in Uganda, those who know me know that a skirt is not something I'm used to, but I had no problem adapting. I learned to ride a motorcycle in a skirt, walk for miles in a skirt and even play soccer in a skirt!
It was a learning experience! I learned to go out of my comfort zone to respect, honor and serve others, when I was uncomfortable for others to hear the Message, I learned to laugh at myself for not knowing how to run in my skirt!
What discomfort do you need to face today for others to benefit?
